RECTIFYING COLUMN

The equipment of the batch rectification is intended to separate the product into fractions depending on their boiling points. The oil and oil-like hydrocarbon mixtures, large fractions which are not aggressive to the carbon steels (pyrolysis oils, glycerin etc) can be used as the raw materials to be processed by the rectifying column.

2. Products received

    As a result of the separation of the pyrolysis oil by the rectifying column manufactured by BIODIESEL CRIMEA ltd the following ratio between the received fractions is observed:

- Petrol (gasoline) fraction. Volume fraction - 40%. Depending on the analysis of the product in the certified laboratory (Sevastopol laboratory No.1) the octane number of fuel determined by the research method is 114.2 that allows to use it like a high octane additive to the oil –derived petrols in the ratio up to 30%. Due to the fact that the petrol fraction contains a lot of aromatic hydrocarbons it could be widely used in petrochemistry.

- Diesel fraction. Volume fraction- 30%. Depending on the analysis of the product in the certified laboratory (Sevastopol laboratory No.1) the cetane index of fuel determined by the research method is 23.64 that allows to use it like an additive to the oil derived diesels or like a light furnace fuel. The percentage of addition of the diesel fraction received by separation of pyrolysis oil by the rectifying column to the oil derived diesels is up to 30%. Light furnace fuel has less mechanical inclusions in comparison with the dark furnace fuel (for example, pyrolysis oil) and thus implies a smaller injectors’ clogging.

- Bitumen. Volume fraction- 30%.

    This product is used for the roads covering.
    The application of the rectifying column also  allows to extract petrol and diesel fractions of crude oil.
