Recycling of domestic waste

    Domestic waste is a multicomponent mixture. The burial is a traditional method for domestic waste utilization. The fact that landfills occupy large areas and there is a possibility of soil or water contamination is a big problem.

    The fuel consumption, high gas emissions, the accumulation of dioxins are the main problems of the waste burning.

    Pyrolysis of domestic waste: volatile components of domestic waste are thermally decomposed without air access, oil condenses and non condensed gas can be used in the waste-heat boilers, producing steam for electricity production. The quantity of oil depends on the waste composition.

Only PRELIMINARY SORTED domestic waste can be recycled by Fortan pyrolysis plants. Organic waste, glass stones and chlorine containing substances must be excluded from the waste before the pyrolysis process. Only 1 kind of waste per shift can be recycled ( the co-mingling waste mustn't be processed by Fortans, although the simultaneous pyrolysis of 90% of rubber waste and 10% of plastic waste is possible).

Various waste have different characteristics: sizes, mechanical properties, humidity, combustion heating value, ability to create toxic and aggressive products, content of mechanical and metallic inclusions.

Biodiesel Crimea ltd has already started the research works to produce a new equipment  which doesn't have the analogues in the territory of Ukraine- Pyrol-50 pyrolysis plant to recycle up to 50 tons of co-mingling waste per day.

PYROL-50 will solve the problem of co-mingling waste utilization, including utilization of waste tires and rubber products, wood waste, soils contaminated with the oil products, oil slimes, medical waste etc. The marketing of the new equipment is being expected in the beginning of 2012.
